We believe that there is one God and that Jesus Christ is His only begotten Son. We believe Jesus died as part of God’s plan to save each one of us, and we believe that God has clearly communicated everything we need to know through the Holy-Spirit inspired Scriptures. That means we teach the Bible in our classes and from the pulpit — and do so without embarrassment. While times may change, the Bible does not (1 Peter 1:24-25). The problem between man and God remains the same — sin (Romans 3:23). The solution to the problem remains the same — Jesus Christ (Acts 4:12; Hebrews 13:8). God, however, does not force anyone to come to him. It must be by our own volition.
We believe that salvation is by faith (man’s part) through grace (God’s part). God has done His part through the sacrificial death of Jesus on the cross and the resurrection on the first day of the week. In turn He asks us to show our faith by our positive response:
It is essential that we receive the gospel message (Acts 2:37; Romans 10:17). Many don’t. Turning a deaf ear, they fail to embrace the “good news” of salvation.
It is essential that we believe and are committed to what we have heard (Mark 16:16; Acts 8:37).
It is essential that we take a long look at our past and make the determination to repent and change (Acts 2:38; 3:19).
It is essential that we confess our faith in Jesus Christ as the Son of the living God (Matthew 10:32; 1 Timothy 6:12).
It is essential that we be baptized or immersed in water for the forgiveness of our sins (Acts 22:16; 1 Peter 3:21). There is no power in the water — the power is in the blood of Jesus. Yet it is the action of faith in baptism in which God cleanses us from our past.
We believe that saving faith is inclusive of everything God asks us to do. We also believe that once this has been accomplished, it is the first step toward a lifetime of Christian obedience and growth (2 Peter 3:18). The New Testament illustrates the importance of belonging to a local church family of believers in order to facilitate that growth (Hebrews 10:24-25).
If at any time you would like to sit down privately and discuss God’s plan for your life, we would be honored to assist. Besides getting to know you better, it would be our privilege to open the Bible and share His wonderful plan for our salvation.
