WOW Moments

WOW!!! Moments

My wife has a favorite expression when something amazing happens. She says, “That’s a Wow!”

It’s one of those things you can’t always describe, but you know it when you see it. Sadly, a lot of adults have lost their touch of wonder when it comes to the creativity of God’s wonderful world; they have lost their “Wow!”

  • The wonder of a child with a new puppy: Wow!
  • The wonder of a first kiss from the girl you would eventually marry: Wow!
  • The look on her face when you ask her to marry you… And the look on yours when she said, “Yes.”  Wow!
  • The overwhelming feeling you get when you hold your newborn for the first time: Wow!
  • The sense of awe when you see the Grand Canyon, Niagara, Old Faithful, or a morning drive through Cades Cove: Wow!
  • A full orange moon, the divine artistry of October, the joy of grandchildren in your lap and a quiet whisper, “I love you, Grandpa!” Wow!

Or how ‘bout this…

  • Jesus loves me this I know; for the Bible tells me so: That is the biggest “Wow!” of all.

Sometimes “Wow!” moments show up when you least expect them—wrapped in the surprise of ordinary days.  An unexpected act of kindness. A simple compliment. A “Thank You” note in the mail. And suddenly your face is aglow. BTW, it’s even better to be on the giving side of “Wow!” (Acts 20:35). If you don’t believe it, try it.

Hey adults—don’t lose touch with wonder; don’t lose your “Wow!” Soak up every precious moment that God gives you to live.  And don’t forget to say, “Thank You!” to Him.                    -w
